3/7–3/8 RUNNING WITH SCISSORS MARKET

$0.00

International Women’s Day at SUAY

March 7–8 | 10AM–6PM
905 Mateo Street, Los Angeles

We were told not to run with scissors.
We did anyway.

Running with Scissors is a two-day gathering honoring International Women’s Day — centering women, femmes, and gender-expansive creators who cut their own path.

Inside SUAY’s DTLA factory, where textiles are cut, stitched, rescued, and reimagined daily, we lean into the metaphor.

Scissors are tools.
Scissors are risk.
Scissors are creation.
Scissors are refusal.

International Women’s Day began as a labor movement. Inside Los Angeles garment factories, women’s labor continues to shape the fashion economy, often invisibly. This weekend celebrates creative power while generating direct economic support for women garment workers in Los Angeles.

ACTIVATIONS ALL WEEKEND

Live Screen + Block Print
Club Mend: Cut + Patch
Charm School: Adornment Lab
$5 Thrift
Women-led Market

On Sunday, DJ Passionfruit (@passionfruit.wav) anchors the space with a curated sound selection that moves between soulful, percussive, and deeply felt. Expect energy that builds, softens, and holds the room.

Shop. Make. Listen. Support.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• A market of women-led small businesses
• Live printing and hands-on garment modification
• DIY patching, cropping, and adornment
• Floral activations
• Food and coffee
• A space to gather, build, and support one another

Every purchase supports women garment workers in Los Angeles.
