19 Oct: Cyanotype Printing Workshop

$75.00

Reclaim our city and your story through the transformative art of cyanotype printing on textiles, guided by photographer Adriana Martinez.

Cyanotype, a photographic process invented in 1842 by astronomer Sir John Herschel, offers a stunning alternative to traditional photography. This historic method creates striking Prussian Blue monochrome images using sunlight and water—an accessible and magical way to bring your creativity to life.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to craft one-of-a-kind prints from your digital negatives. Experiment with plant materials we provide, or bring your own meaningful objects—like glass, toys, or fabric—to create unique, cameraless images that reflect your identity. Let your imagination run wild as you remix materials into personal works of art.

Want to prepare your images in advance? Follow these steps to create your negatives and email suma@suayla.com to print them ahead of time:

  1. Convert the image to Black and White

  2. Invert the image

  3. Mirror/Flip the image horizontally (especially for text)

  4. Resize to 300 dpi, 8x10 inches

  5. Save as JPG: Firstname_Lastname_HM.jpg

  6. Upload to this folder
